Winter Welcome to Virginia

Winter Welcome to Virginia
First winter in Virginia in 33 years and this is what it looks like

About Me

I am a special education teacher taking a year off. My husband was recently transferred to Virginia, which is where we are from and met 33 years ago. It is like coming home but enjoying a new environment at the same time. I am working as a special education assistant, so I can stay in the educational loop, just NO lesson plans!

The Aftermath of a Snow Storm

The snow is slowly melting, resulting in messy mud.  The gravel in the drive way is peeking out of the dirty snow making hills all around.  It certainly doesn't look like the serene picture above.  But will it matter next week with the call for another snow storm?  I will be prepared with a pile of wood for the little stove downstairs, food that can be cooked on the grill, and I already have the D batteries for the radio.  There are many trees that are not standing back up, and one has decided to slowly lend towards the dock.  If we don't get it in time it will land on the dock and take one of the boat bow lines with it.  I think one tree falling on the dock was enough!  I wished I had  bought some boots.  Ah, it is raining, maybe it will wash the snow away.
